2008 DAKOTA~THURSTON 4-H CONTEST & COUNTY FAIR RESULTS
Throughout the year various contests like Public Speaking, Music and Presentation are held. 4-H youth participate in these event and gain valuable life skill. During fair week 4-H youth bring their completed projects for judging and participate in livestock, equine and small animal shows. Youth earn ribbons and trophies for efforts and hard work. Makin' Money Camp
Makin’ Money An entrepreneurship camp for grades 5th – 8th Thursday, May 31st, 2007, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00p.m. Laurel Learning Center & Park Across the region kids are starting up their own businesses and making money right from home. Learn what it takes to get going, marketing tips and advice to making your project run smoothly. Make friends, have fun and meet other kids in the area just like you.

Horse Clinic
This clinic will allow 4-H horse members (ages 8 to 18) and leaders/parents to work with Clinician Gary Stauffer, UNL Extension Educator, 4-H Horse Judge, former Director of Equestrian Studies at Findlay college in Findlay Ohio to mention a few of his accomplishments. Clinic participants are encouraged, but not required, to bring a horse in order to enhance their hands-on experience. Spectators are welcome, but only horse project members and leaders will be allowed to ride in the arena during the clinic. Gary will go over basic skills and fundamentals for various events.

Pre-District Horse Clinic
This is your opportunity to ask questions, learn new skills, techniques and practice under the trained eye of a horse professional. Gary Stauffer, UNL Extension Educator, Holt Count is guest Clinician. This clinic is open to 4-H'ers, leaders and parents. See flyer for more information
